Mission of Hope Peace and Joy Inc was formed in May 2023 by Robert (Bob) Ernest, Maria Theresa (Tess) Ernest and Dr. Jeanne Michelle Velasco as a non profit agency to promote culture awareness and health related concerns to our community and other communities around our country and the world.
In our first community event, the Fiesta Filipino, in association with the Filipino American Association of El Paso with support from Mountain View Neighborhood Association in northeast El Paso, city and county government officials, El Paso Parks and Recreation and Mimbella Contractors Inc. Our community has come together to provide outstanding support to display some of the different cultures living in our community.
Future events including health fairs are currently being planned starting in November 2023 and continuing the Fiesta Filipino on an annual basis. Our main focus is to provide our underserved communities with the ability to improve themselves and their health as well as different cultures working together to improve our communities, Involvement of our civic leaders and businesses with funding coming from individuals, governments and businesses, our goal is to improve the standard of living through health assessments and consultations, referrals for health related issues as well as coordination with other agencies providing services to our community to meet their needs.
Our directors include vast experience in the field of healthcare, business and analysis. Our President, Robert Ernest is a retired combat veteran who specialized in intelligence analysis and later served as an analyst for law enforcement. Our Secretary, Dr. Jeanne Michelle Velasco is a medical doctor with the specialties of Pediatric Pulmonologist and our Treasurer is Maria Theresa Ernest has been a Registered Nurse for over 40 years with national and world wide assignments with experience in most fields of nursing.
