March is Women’s History Month and what better way to kick of the month, than with a nine-fight card event featuring five bouts matching some world-ranked women professional boxers.

Kings Promotions in association with Warriors Edge Boxing Promotions featured “RING WARS IX”, which took place at the legendary El Paso County Coliseum this past March 1st. With the opening bell of the night, Danielle Perkins (4-0, 2 KO) started off the evening with a quick knockout of Timia Nagy, Budapest, HU (3-3, 3 KO). Brittany Sims, Salem, OR (6-3 (3 KO) stepped in next against Beata Dudek, HU 3-1 (3 KO) and won by unanimous decision in a six-rounder. Sims left no doubt as to why she’s earned all the championship hardware she carries into the ring.

All the way from Alberta, CA, entered the lean and slick Bree Howling, who put her 6-0 (2 KO) record on the line against a veteran opponent in Noemi Bosques, hailing from St. Petersburg, FL, 12-20-3 (2 KO). Bosques proved to be no match for the smooth and powerful Howling. Bosques was the recipient of a textbook solid right hand to the face that laid her flat on her back. Bosques got up at the count of eight, but referee Rocky Burke had seen enough and put a stop to it at 1:03 of the first round.

Alexis Mones out of Ft. Worth, TX 3-1-1 (1 KO) came into a hostile and pro-Amy Salinas environment and faced off against Las Cruces, NM’s Salinas 6-5 and was victorious in earning a split decision over Salinas. A chess match and non-stop action between these two fighters, but Mones’ aggressive style and constant movement gave her the nod.

The main event of the night-featured El Paso’s own Stephanie “The Enforcer” Han 6-0 (2 KO) against Nikola Izova, from Levice, Slovakia, 3-3-3. With a powerful right hand straight down the middle, it took Han a mere 23-seconds of the opening round to put an exclamation point on the evening and “Girl Power!” Han wasted no time and went straight at Izova a la Mike Tyson, landing a barrage of punches that Izova had no response for. The referee had seen enough and put an immediate stop to it. Han closed out the evening…another great night of professional boxing in El Paso.

Another great event by Kings Promotions in association with Warriors Edge Boxing Promotions, a great night for El Paso boxing aficionados and a powerful night for Women’s History Month.
