The Salvation Army of El Paso’s Lone Star Gala brought together generous hearts, local heroes, and one legendary Dallas Cowboy for an unforgettable night of celebration and impact. Held to raise vital funds for food and shelter programs, the event featured none other than NFL Hall of Famer Drew Pearson as the guest speaker—and he did not disappoint.
With his signature charisma and down-to-earth personality, Pearson connected effortlessly with the crowd. Guests enjoyed once-in-a-lifetime moments trying on his Hall of Fame blazer and championship rings, and a bidding war erupted over the autographed jersey he brought—one of the night’s most exciting highlights.
Emceed by Duke Keith, the event was made possible thanks to the generous support of sponsors including Marathon Petroleum Corporation, Althouse Restore, Orion Digital Infrastructure, GECU Foundation, and many more. The gala also honored outstanding supporters of The Salvation Army’s mission: Mark and Debbie Bell, Albert Montano, and Jessica Sawyer.
Myriam Guerrero, Advisory Board Chair, energized the room with a luxury vacation raffle, adding excitement and momentum to a night already full of meaningful moments.
“This event isn’t just about fundraising—it’s about changing lives,” said Major Floiran Estrada. “Supporting food and shelter programs means helping families, single parents, veterans, and individuals with disabilities move from crisis to stability. We offer not only meals and a place to sleep but the tools to rebuild.”
Funds raised through the gala will directly support The Salvation Army’s family shelter and outreach programs, which serve El Paso’s most vulnerable populations—providing not just food and housing, but also case management and long-term support to break the cycle of poverty.
