“We The Hispanos Foundation” opened as a 501c3 non-profit foundation under the Paso Del Norte Foundation umbrella on May 30, 2025. The purpose of the foundation is to educate the public on the Hispanic contributions to American Revolution through documentary film, publications, and conferences throughout the United States and Abroad.   The feature documentary film, We The Hispanos, is being filmed by internationally renowned documentary film Director Jose Luis Lopez Linares of Lopez-Li Films from Madrid, Spain and his film crew. Mr. Lopez Linares has won numerous awards for his many documentaries and notably 3 Goya Awards in addition to many other awards. The film tells the unknown story of how Hispanics financed and helped the 13 colonies win the war that led to the birth of a new nation, the United States of America.

This film marks the third in a series: “España la Primera Globalización”, “Hispanoamérica, Canto de Vida y Esperanza”, and now, “We The Hispanos”.

We The Hispanos tells the fascinating history of the Hispanic contribution to the American Revolution. Hang on to your seat because you will learn history that you have not been taught. Not only did Spain and every Hispanic living in the new world, to include natives and free men and women of color (they were also considered Spanish) funded George Washington’s army, they fed them, clothed them, armed them, and fought right alongside with them. Our history books do not tell us this story, but this film will.

From the naming of our country, the dollar, the dollar sign, raising the money in the Americas to finance George Washington’s troops, and creating the incredible strategy that helped win the war, Hispanics in the New World rolled up their sleeves to give of their time, talent, money and many, their lives to gain American Independence.

Joining the film will be notable historians, members of the Sons and Daughters of the American Revolution, Native Americans, and people who have made a difference telling their ancestor’s stories, such as Michael Henderson whose great great grandmother was freed by hero Bernardo de Galvez in Spanish Louisiana. Mrs. Teresa Valcarce who worked with US Senators to place Bernardo de Galvez’ painting in the Foreign Relations Meeting Room of the Senate and memorializing other Hispanic heroes that impacted our freedom.

This outstanding documentary is being filmed from coast to coast and is sure to please every American, Hispanic, or otherwise, from the mountains to the prairies to the oceans and abroad.

Plans are being made in the Southwest to show Jose Luis Lopez Linares’ first two films “España La Primera Globalización” and “Hispanoamérica Canto de Vida y Esperanza” in the coming months.
